Water distillers take a long time to make a 1 gallon of water—typically 4 to 5 hours. Our AquaTru units filter 1 gallon anywhere between 10-15 minutes.
Distillers also use much higher levels of electricity than AquaTru units. Distillers typically use 3.2 Kilowatt per gallon, which equates to $0.38 in electricity per gallon, while AquaTru only uses 0.01 Kilowatt per gallon, $0.001 cost per gallon.
Most importantly, distillers do not remove volatile organic chemicals like benzene or disinfection byproducts commonly found in tap water. The VOC Carbon filter in AquaTru units removes these contaminants.
