Steps:
- Turn off the cold-water supply line.
- Empty the RO holding tank: Open the RO water faucet. When the flow stops, the tank is empty.
- Remove the yellow Pre-Carbon Filter: Twist it counterclockwise out of the manifold.
- Install new filters:
- Insert a new yellow Pre-Carbon Filter and green VOC Filter. Twist them until snug with the filter manifold.
- Write the date on the filters, set a phone reminder, or use the filter replacement tracker in the user manual to remember when to replace them.
- Tip: Replace Pre-Carbon Filters every 6 months and VOC Filters every 12 months for optimal performance.
- Sanitize the holding tank: (optional, but recommended)

- Unscrew the cap on the RO sanitizer on top of the holding tank.
- Add two tablespoons of bleach.
- Ensure the O-ring seal on the main body of the sanitizer is in place and not obstructing the threads.
- Screw the cap of the RO sanitizer back on tightly.

- Open the holding tank valve.
- Close the RO water faucet.
- Open the cold tap water supply valve.
- Check for leaks: While the RO tank is filling, spend a few minutes making sure there are no leaks in the system.
- Empty the filled RO holding tank: After the tank is filled (this can take up to 2 hours), empty it until the flow reduces to a slow trickle.
- Allow the RO holding tank to fill normally.
Once you have completed these maintenance procedures, your AquaTru System will be fully prepared and ready for use. Regular maintenance is crucial not only for the longevity of the system but also for ensuring that you continue to enjoy clean and safe drinking water.
